PC3!
Posted by Ron on December 17, 2011

With everything I've been up to lately, I've been remiss on posting a new logo that I recently designed for the upcoming Petra fan convention called PC3: Pethead Convention 3: Indy. It will be taking place in Indianapolis on May 5, 2012 and will feature special concert performances by John Schlitt, The Voice of Petra, GHF, featuring original Petra members Greg Hough, Bill Glover and John DeGroff and singer-songwriter Sam Scales. You can find more about it at Rob Pugh's PC3 Blog. Rob's also the founder of the Facebook-based Classic Christian Rock Preservation Society as well as half the inspiration behind my new book My Best Friend is an Idiot!. But don't let that stop you from checking out his blog and Facebook group!

My Best Friend is an Idiot! Now Available!

The complete 20th Anniversary collection of the Rock Talk and Life As We Know It comic strips, both popular in the mid-90s. Join Rob & Ron in Rock Talk as they tackle "serious" subjects like whether or not rockers should wear plaid or get tattoos. Then hang with them again in the Christian-themed Life As We Know It as they freak out at paying $6.66 for a CD or glow with pride at inventing a Christian Music action figure with Kung Fu grip. Through it all, the author gives a detailed history of the creation of the comics and individual commentary on all the strips. Enjoyment for the whole family!

You can get your own copy for only $14.99 here and if you use the coupon code COUNTDOWN you can get 25% off that price!

Mel Gets Chucked!
Posted by Ron on November 14, 2011

Back in July, I was contacted by Melanie, a girl from Germany, who had plans to see the band Simple Plan in Eindhoven. She asked if she could get a hi-res copy of the cartoon I did of SP drummer Chuck Comeau a couple years ago to make into a T-shirt for him and the band to sign. I happily obliged and was surprised by this picture she sent of her posing with Chuck. I'm glad I was able to play a small part of her amazing time meeting the guys.

I'm also hard at work trying to finish my latest book featuring my Rock Talk and Life As We Know It comic strips. I hope to have it available early next month.

Katie and Dakk!
Posted by Ron on September 6, 2011
Lately, I've been doing some character art for the all-ages graphic novel I'm working on. It was previously going to be called I, Platypus: The Chronicles of Dakk Waggitt but I'm not sure if it fits the tone of the book so I'm toying with some other ideas. If all works out as planned it will appear toward the beginning of 2012 as a webcomic (updating 2-3 times weekly) before being collected into book form. Below you'll find the two main characters, Katie Holland and platypus Dakk Waggitt.
