The Eddie That Binds!

Most of you were aware of the controversy surrounding Van Halen's induction into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Former members Sammy Hagar and Michael Anthony planned to attend (and did), Eddie and Alex Van Halen were going to attend until Eddie decided to check into "rehab" and former lead vocalist David Lee Roth was going to appear until a disagreement on whether or not he could perform at the ceremony (wasn't this for them?) erupted between he and the event coordinators causing him to pull out as well. So for the record, that left only two members (one original) of Van Halen that were at a event in honor of them. Pathetic huh!

Today's strip doesn't relate as much to this, though, as it does to Eddie Van Halen putting the kibosh on a Roth-led summer tour semi-reunion (Anthony wasn't invited to return) due to supposed legal entanglements or whatever. My guess is it comes down to Eddie being an egotistical idiot...thus this week's comic!

For those Alex Van Halen "fans" out there, I also have an alternate comic.

3/9/07 - Toon It Up hits the big 5-0 on March 23rd. It seems like just yesterday that Gib and the gang found their way onto the web. 3/2/07 - I apologize in advance if any the strips for the next few months end up delayed a few days or even a week. I have a full plate right now that includes working on a children's book with financial planner/author Peter Dunn and a full-length comic book adventure featuring everyone's favorite platypus Dakk Waggitt. I'll give you more details on both as soon as the time is right.
