Draw Like An Egyptian!Posted by Ron on August 30, 2011 Here's something I drew up for my wife for our wedding anniversary back In July. She's really into Egyptian culture and art so I tried to incorporate some of our interests into the design. ![]()

Number Three in the series of print ads for Nature's Decorations, a family-owned landscape plant and tree nursery. It looks like this could be it for the season but Li'l Bit will definitely be back next year!

Now you can join Gib, Marshall, Mike and the rest of the gang from Ron Braun’s popular music comic strip Toon It Up in their brand new book, All Tooned Up And No Place To Go! as they wisecrack their way through headline-inspired humor about the bands you know and love (or maybe loathe), the scandals and blowouts of those same bandmembers and, of course, our musical pop-culture in general. This 96-page collection features the entire run of the Toon It Up comic strip, never-before-seen strips from the unpublished archives, strip commentaries and much more. You can get your own copy for only $9.99 here and if you use the coupon codes SUMMERBOOK11 or SUNSHINE305 you can get 20% off that price!
Recently, I was hired to do the illustrations for a series of print ads for Nature's Decorations, a family-owned plant nursery. Here's the first of them. ![]() And on the book front, if all goes according to plan, I will posting late this week or early next to let you know the details on when and where you can purchase All Tooned Up and No Place To Go!, the definitive Toon It Up comic strip collection! Stay TOONed!
With all of the distractions of late out of the way, I'm back to work on the Toon It Up book, All Tooned Up and No Place To Go!. If all goes well, it should be released in early July. I'm also shooting to have my Rock Talk/Life As We Know It book out by the end of the year, since 2011 is the 20th Anniversary. Then it's back to to work on the never-ending graphic novel project...
Due to all of Charlie Sheen's recent antics, he's become more popular than ever. Oddly enough, that turned out to be a good thing for me, as a few years ago I did a Sheen caricature that is now being used in a new iTunes app. Cool!
![]() In other news, I'm about 95% done with my Toon It Up comic strip collection, now officially titled All Tooned Up and No Place To Go! As soon as I have the cover art finished, I'll be posting it as well as letting you know when and where it can be purchased. See ya soon!
It's been a busy couple of months but you'll soon see the fruits of that labor in the form of a Toon It Up book. That's right! In a few short weeks you'll be able to read all of the Toon It Up comic strips, as well as some that have never been seen, within the pages of a perfect-bound paperback. As soon as I have more details, I'll be sure to pass them your way! Until then, though, here's a brand-new guest strip from Bill Charbonneau, creator of the hilarious Small Market Sports comic. If you haven't already, be sure to check it out when you get a chance!

Happy New Year! As part of my New Year's Resolutions, I vowed to try to draw every day in 2011, something that was severely lacking last year. Most of the drawing so far has been a revamping of my character designs for an ongoing project that I've been working on but the one thing I did start and finish was this cartoon of Lee Majors as Steve Austin, The Six Million Dollar Man. This was inspired by a Christmas gift to myself, The Six Milion Dollar Man Complete DVD Series Collection. I'm only through Season Two but am really enjoying the trip back to my childhood. If you're a fan, I strongly recommend that you pick it up! Enjoy and see you soon! ![]()
