Here are the last of the pics from the Chicago Comic-Con but don't forget to come back tomorrow for the riotous return of Toon It Up!

Chicago Comic-Con Part 3!

I'm just about finished with Friday's Toon It Up so it looks to be up on time. I've also got a Michael Jackson-related strip that will follow mid-week next week. While you wait, here are more pics from the Chicago Comic-Con!

Here are the first batch of TV/Movie Stars. First up is Erin Gray, Colonel Wilma Deering on Buck Rogers In The 25th Century.

The one and only Lou Ferrigno star of TV's The Incredible Hulk as well as the pizza-loving security guard on last year's Incredible Hulk movie.

Whatchu Talkin' About Todd? Todd Bridges, Willis on Diff'rent Strokes as well as Monk on the now-cancelled Everybody Hates Chris.

Emma Caulfield, Buffy The Vampire Slayer's Anya.

Ray Park, Star Wars' Darth Maul, X-Men's Toad and, though I'm not into it, Snake Eyes on the new GI Joe movie.

Peter Mayhew, Chewbacca on Star Wars.

Nichelle Nichols, Star Trek's very own Lt. Uhura.

More to come...

Chicago Comic-Con Part 2!

I wrote about a half dozen new Toon It Up strips this weekend. Since I don't need to make the truncated versions for Indy.com Magazine anymore, these will be a return to the four panel strips that I did when the strip was alive and well. I hope to have the first one up by Friday. Until then, here are some more pics from the 2009 Chicago Comic-Con.

Here are a few of the costumed attendees that roam the aisles of Comic-Con. Star Wars Clonetrooper and Mrs. Fett?

Star Wars TIE Fighter Pilot, Extra Wide...

Star Wars' Greedo - He shot first... Honest!

My favorite: Galactus holding a little Silver Surfer - Classic!

More to come...

Chicago Comic-Con Part 1!
Posted by Ron on August 24, 2009

Hey! It's been awhile but I'm back! I'm going to start posting some current artwork soon but first I wanted to post some photos from my trip to the Chicago Comic-Con on August 8th.

This guy was doing a drawing on the floor as you walked in. Quite impressive.

Rob Liefeld, co-founder of Image Comics. I had him sign some of the Battlestar Galactica books that he wrote and did the cover art.

David Petersen, creator of MouseGuard. He signed the second collection of his MouseGuard series. I got the first from him at last year's con.

This is the first year I didn't stop and talk to wonderful Art Baltazar. His booth was quite busy since he hit it big with Tiny Titans and his work on Shazam. I've got a lot of signed stuff from the past though. Patrick The Wolf Boy was his claim to fame for me. He always called me "The Rock Talk Guy".

Grant Gould, artist and Wolves of Odin creator. I had him sign the first issue of Wolves of Odin and also bought a Dead@17 print from him that he made for Josh Howard's Dead@17 series. Nice guy.

The legendary George Perez. I followed his work quite religiously as a teen. His stints as an artist on The Fantastic Four and New Teen Titans were some of his best. He signed a NTT issue and a couple of prints for me. A very gracious guy.

Mike Allred, writer and artist. I'm a huge fan of his work, especially on a series called Red Rocket 7 where his ageless alien character lived through decades of our musical history. He signed several of my Atomics books. Nice guy.

Bryan JL Glass, creator/writer of Mice Templar. Bryan and I go waaay back. In fact, one of my Rock Talk comics appeared as a bonus page in one of his early series called Spandex Tights. He's been nominated for a Harvey Award as Best New Talent for his work on MT. Hmm, Best New Talent? Hasn't he been at this for like 18 years? Anyway, Bryan signed the new hardcover Mice Templar book for me as well as a couple of other issues. Great guy!

More to come...
